Alternative-fuel vehicle

Alternative Fuel CarAn alternative fuel vehicle is a vehicle that darts on a fuel other than "traditional" petroleum fuels such as petrol or diesel; and any method of powering an engine that does not involve exclusively petroleum. An important thing about alternative fuel used in these vehicles is that, its materials can be found anywhere, counting your own garden as well. Some materials comprise old frying oil, used vegetable oil, plant or animal wastes and other reprocessed materials (they undergo processes definitely). Working on alternative power systems for vehicles has become a high precedence for governments and vehicle manufacturers around the world as they have to restrict greenhouse emissions. Following mentioned are some types of alternative-fuel vehicles:

Solar vehicle
A solar vehicle is an electric vehicle motorized by solar energy attained from solar panels on the car. The panels utilize photovoltaic cells, which transfer solar energy into electrical energy. Most of these vehicles however have lingered as experimental model cars used for exhibition and advertising purposes, often sponsored by government. Actually solar vehicles are made for the purpose of solar car races as they are noiseless and fairly fast and can travel over long distances. The chances of existence of solar powered vehicles have largely advanced as examiners persist to introduce more realistic and reliable electric motors, control systems, battery power and highly developed electronics.

Natural Gas vehicles

Natural GasAs the name suggests, natural gas vehicles, is an alternative fuel vehicle generally referred to as NGV which uses compressed natural gas (CNG) or rarely liquefied natural gas (LNG) as a clean alternative opposing conventional automobile fuels like traditional gasoline and diesel.  Worldwide, as fuel prices are hiking more people are turning to NGVs and moreover the natural gas powered vehicles are all comparable with conventional fueled vehicles in regard with the travel speed, acceleration and horsepower. In addition natural gas is one of the cleanest, least polluting fuels.

Natural gas vehicles generates power which is approximately 1% lesser than that of gasoline. Nevertheless, its high octane rating enables elevated compression ratios in combustion engines which results into well-organized burning of the fuel eventually helps it combust slightly cleaner than standard gasoline combustion. On the other hand it also has a drawback when it comes to emissions as it produces slightly higher amounts of carbon monoxide gas than gasoline. But the emission of other gases from NGV is comparatively lower than that of gasoline.

Economical compressed natural gas (CNG) powered vehicles can have a direct and positive impact on the matters of air quality, and public health. For this, even existing gasoline-powered vehicles can be converted to permit the use of CNG. There are many car manufacturers who are producing cars that can run on CNG. Worldwide, there are more than 7 million NGVs running on the roads. Honda Vivic GX is the NGV commercially available in U.S market. Even prevalent use of natural gas-powered buses in public transportation has risen in

Nuclear Power Vehicles

Nuclear Power CarThe nuclear fuel raw substances come from earth as like fossil fuels. The primary material of the fuel is uranium and the amount of power that comes from small uranium is what  makes nuclear power advantageous. The power from one kilogram of uranium is more or less equivalent to 100,000 kilograms of oil; consequently, as a function of power utilization, not much uranium needs to be removed from the ground, thereby the environmental impact of uranium mines is relatively less when weighed against mining and drilling for fossil fuels.

Nuclear power plants do not produce any environment problems by emitting carbon dioxide or sulphur, which are supposed to be major contributors to greenhouse effect
likewise. Nuclear power plants stops 5.1 million heaps of sulfur dioxide, 2.4 million heaps of nitrogen oxide, and 164 million metric heaps of carbon from entering into the earth's environment each year, according to the Nuclear Energy Institute, U.S.

In 1958, The Ford Nucleon, a nuclear-powered concept car was developed by Ford Motor Company. The design did not comprise an internal-combustion engine, infact, the vehicle was to be motorized by a small nuclear reactor in the back of the vehicle. The vehicle also featured a power capsule balanced between twin booms at the rear. The copy of the car can be viewed at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearbor, Michigan

The most critical ecological concern faced by the nuclear industry is the matter of its waste clearance.

Your current web browser must be updated to version 7 of Internet Explorer (IE7) to take advantage of all of template's capabilities.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.

Get free downloads for Internet Explorer 7, including recommended updates as they become available. To download Internet Explorer 7 in the language of your choice, please visit the Internet Explorer 7 worldwide page.
